Patient Workflow Administrator

NHS General Practice seeking an enthusiastic, methodical and flexible person to join our lively practice team. We work in a fabulous new surgery.

This is a key post in our practice: we receive masses of information every day, electronic and paper based, about patients and other matters, from a variety of sources and it all needs organising, coding, actioning and sharing with the relevant people in the practice using our document management system, Docman. A consultant may ask the GP to arrange for some blood tests, request social services to carry out an assessment or pass on a scan result to a patient: these are examples of tasks our workflow administrators carry out, making our practice more efficient, our patients relieved and impressed and our GPs able to work more effectively. The letters from hospitals contain important information about the patient and what has happened to them. Your job will also be to add important data to the clinical record to enable our computer to work its magic.

Records for new patients come from their previous GPs and contain important information that our computer will not understand unless you enter some coded medical history.

So you will appreciate what an important team you will be working in.

You will have a high standard of IT literacy and be able to learn and apply concepts of clinical information and workflow management. You will help optimise the workflow reliably with your excellent organisation and methodical skills, which aids in providing top quality patient care. You will be interested in contributing ideas to make further changes to improve our efficiency.

Full training will be given and the work is carefully managed according to protocols.

Up to 37.5 hours per week (permanent position)

Salary Scale £19,890 - £21,879 per annum pro rata
(depending on experience and qualification)
Working 5 days Mon - Fri covering early and late shifts

Join our great NHS General Practice team in our delightful new state-of-the-art surgery in Kingsbury. We are seeking a cheerful, enthusiastic and flexible individual to join our team providing NHS care for 15,800 patients. We have one wonderful HCA in post and are looking for a second.

Healthcare Assistant experience essential with a willingness to train for a Phlebotomy role (if not already) in order to share tasks. The HCAs will be helping to run the vital Chronic Disease Monitoring service for our patients with high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease and so on, as well as providing routine phlebotomy, so it's a varied job, always interesting.

Full training will be provided and it will be a great chance to upskill. It's a fantastic role at the heart of our healthcare provision and can expand as your ambition dictates. Patients love a good HCA and so do we!

Good computer skills are important and knowledge of EMIS Web, Docman and ICE would be an added advantage but not essential.

NHS pension available

Dear Willow Tree Clinical Team
Thank you for being so welcoming again and patient during my Taster week,
I have seen so much. So many different consultations styles and so many complex issues raised. It has been such an interesting week, so many things I have never thought about or come across before. Wonderful clinical care.
I have had great experiences twice now at the surgery, both as an undergraduate and as a doctor. You have cemented my decision to train as a GP.

Hi All,
Apologies I did not get to see you all/thank you all in person before I left... so thank you!!
I have had such a wonderful experience at Willow Tree, you've all been truly fantastic. I felt welcome from my first day, you've made working here very easy, everyone is really approachable and I'll be singing the willow tree praise for many years to come!
 All the best to everyone!
